Sup niggas!
Today's a happy day.
I'm so happy because today I've found my friends ...
They're in my head
I'm so excited, I can't wait to meet you there...
But I don't care
I'm so horny but that's okay...
My will is good - yeah, yeah, yeah
Today's my virgin experience at Crossroads Cafe deli section, where I made my virgin sandwiches, filled with my love, joy and kinkiness. Worked from 1-5pm, made new frens, learnt exotic and sophisticated names for various type of cheese and bread. Oh yea, sandwiches rock! Colleagues at the work place are frenly. . and female. Haha, I wish all of you can come and visit
me and I'll fill your sandwich up with 30CM tall of smoked turkey meat and dry salami and it'll last you a week. Cafe has nice atmosphere, with music blasting from our manager's Ipod, live tennis game from the 55 inch TV, and aroma of the baked cheese.I feel great, that I'll soon be able to cover up my own living expenses, and hopefully save up for a ticket to return to SG nxt yr, and buy lots of shits for myself and Baby, and frens in the process.
Finished work at 5pm. Made my way to downtown and finally met my Baby. We haven meet each other for 2 weeks and it felt terrific. Night sceneries of the city looked exceptional as well. We strolled around, shopped at wherever place she felt like. With someone dear, and familiar, walking around in streets narcotized by the artists' guitars, percussions, voices and not forgetting sexophones, it really felt exceptional. Exceptionally romantic and artistic.

I like you - I'm not gonna crack.
I miss you - I'm not gonna crack.
I love you - I'm not gonna crack.
I'm so happy.
I'm happy I finally dated a girl in SF. Hahahaha, hopefully there'll be more datings =) but I guess I gotta work on my accoutings. ( Studied accouting till 12pm last night -. -)
Today's exactly the 1st day of my third week in USA. I'm really happy and proud for myself. That everything in life is on track, never at any point of time I felt uncomfortable with this new place. I'm happy that I remained optimistic and cheerful at lonely hours. Now I got a job, and alr had many frens, everything is like pre-arranged for me, thx God, for you blessings. I feel confident, being independent and definitely love the freedom that comes with the independence. I will, however, rmb my purpose here, I'll strive hard.Tmr will be another vibrant day, for I'm gonna cook that piece of Sirloin meat frozen in my fridge. I'm gonna eat-the-shit-out-of it. And I fuckin swear m gonna buy that 7.99/lb salmon aft I get my 1st pay.

Eh. . I think I rock. =D
I'm chilling,
Vinci

Finally employed. I am HAPPY!
Got a job at Crossroads CafeThx my pretty manager! *her name is Clarissa, a senior student.
Wee!
9.14USD per hr which is minimum wage in SF.
Gonna start work TMR!! 1-5pm.
Was suppose to meet baby tmr but I guess I'll meet her aft work.
I am happy! Wakaka.
Ytd went to super-mart and bought super lots of things. Bought beef, ribs. Thx to Gavin the great chef who cooked it for me, and of course I learnt. Taste superb. Oh yea. Bought 4 pieces of beef ribs for 3.6USD (ribs r the cheapest, locals don eat it often cos they deem it as low quality, and less flavour). Cooked 2 pieces ytd, cooked 2 pieces today. Cooked myself today.

Here it goes:
Looks good? Cooking is fun, and soon I'll learn to cook more things @ Crossroads Cafe. Aft I get my 1st pay, I will go buy tt better quality part of the stupid cow and cook the heck out of it.
So far met all my housemates + roommate alr. My roommate is called Larry, an ABC. V tall guy but gentle cos the way he talk is sissy. "Gay" is a sensitive world in SF cos this is the gay hub of USA as well as the gay capital of the world. Surprised? Gay marriage is legal here and there're gay-friendster everywhere such as areyougay.com and it's all advertised openly on huge banners everywhere, even in downtown area. So. . I need to change my habit of sayin gay. Dammit, I cant tell someone "Hey ure gay" anymore =. = So Larry isn't gay. He's a nice guy.
The other guy is called Anthony, but we call him T.C. his roommate Christian is slpin over at gf's place everyday so won get to see him much. All of them are locals. Which is good, I need more local frens.
Accounting is really a challenging subject. The professor teaches very fast and I don't understand all thos jargons, cash flow, balance sheet, dividends etc. I'm gonna go mug now. MUST thrash the angmohs, own them upside down.
I'm happy.

Shower's on, power's on
Jan 23 '07
Slacking day, had only 1 lesson which was microecons - 10.30 to 12.15. Stuffs r pretty similar to wat I learnt in SG except that everything is in US's context. So far I've got some quite professional professors. My accounting teacher graduated from Stanford, wow, *applause. Econs teacher oso has a PhD. English teacher calls herself a rookie but she seems fine. I did some homework about my teachers on ratemyprofessors.com where all teachers in US schs get rated and commented or even pawned by their students’ remarks. My maths teacher din receive a lot of positive feedbacks. I dno, but so far his 1st lesson is quite entertaining. He's damn lame, calling himself witty, humors and profound but the jokes he crack are all damn corny. Even a lot of comments on ratemyprofessors said so too. He told us not to skip class cos we'll probly miss some things he might say, which can b profound and witty. (_. _'')
University is really diff from high schs, a lot of self-discipline is required. It's really up to oneself wat one wish to get out of this education. In my econs class for example, attendance is not required. Mr Joe our professor said it explicitly. And testing and mark allocation policies for various subjects are not standardized. This means there's different rubrics for individual subjects. For example, English teach can decide how many tests he wanna give and how many pieces of homeworks and exams, as well as deciding the weightage of all these. Whereas Maths teacher will hav a set of totally different rules. Even within the same department, different teacher requires their students to buy different text books, which is completely jokey.
Anyway, had a diagnostic test on the 1st day of my maths class - quantitative methods for business. Pretty easy. I was told tt we'll do a lot of microsoft excel calculations for this subject. Sounds interesting, at this I can see how this subject is being applied to do something genuine. *since it's a maths class designed for all business majors. No more calculus and sequence & series shits. Accounting was pretty fun too, again, very practical and useful. Econs is like studying the frictionless state in physics; contrastingly, accounting and quant.methods are like real life physics. I'm blithesome that I can finally begin to study something that will be most likely related to my career next time, however, there's a lot of technical jargons in accounting that I don understand. Will do some read up myself. Books are extremely pricey, my accounting text cost me 112USD, and all of them look like encyclopedias.
Sch is great, class rooms are small, very focused, and lecture halls are relatively undersized when compared to SG as well. Most importantly, a lot of angmoh sexy angmoh chicks, visually stimulating, hahaha. I seriously don understand how some of them can wear mini skirts and tubes in such a cold place, the opportunity cost of looking hot is exactly the hotness which a typically normal person desperately needs in winter. I salute them, for their "hotness" has added incalescence to this winter. Hahaha! Lmao. Oh well, ya'll know m jokin.
Again, so far so good =) Except for employment. It's been 2 weeks in USA alr (actually quite short hor, but I don feel strange to this place, haha perhaps adjusted too fast, or mayb m still at my honey moon stage). Anyway, I've alr filled in 7 or 8 applications to date. Personally visited the various departments too. Finally nailed down an interview tmr at 3pm. It's a job at the sch's cafeteria. Hope I can get it, I need cash!! Mother F. . .
Ytd went to downtown area with Mr.Rich again. Wanted to buy shoes together cos superstar was sold at 89USD for 2 pairs but to my mishap, only single colored shoes are on this offer - black & white. Poppycock. Dammit. Walked around the whole aftnoon and din find any shoes tt I like so din spend a single penny. Mr.Rich indeed lived up to his name by conclusively buying a Emperio Armarni long sleeve tee priced at 112USD. =.=
He tried on n asked "Vinci, how is it."
"It's ok, but a bit small..." o.O
"Hmm, but I really like it!" >.<
"Then buy lo. . u rich mah. ." -. -
"Ok! I'll take one then!" =D
". . . . . . " -. -'''!
So swift! Only took him 5mins to decide to spend, or perhaps to thrash, 100 USD which is 800RMB. Fucking perverted. Oh man. . China is corrupted. Enuff said. Mr.Rich was over the moon bcos "In China this will cost 2800RMB! I bought one before!" Yours Truly almost choked. Lifestyle of the corrupted and prodigal. Mr.Rich then treated me for dinner bcos he blindly lead me around the town for half an hour. Haha. Was a fun aftnoon anyway. M heading to the supermart soon to buy some dinner. Peace ya'll.
*photos will b uploaded later.

Attended a bboy jam on Sat, Jan 21. Was located at all place called cellspace, the event was called King of Cali, 44 bboys from all over California entered to compete against each other for the top price, 2500 cash and a plaque which says King of Cali. It was the most fuckin dope bboy competition I ever seen.
Went there wit my housemate Asaf. The place was like a big warehouse, fancifully decorated with colourful grafftis. Wooden flooring was superb and there were alot of ppl there, alot of dancers, alot of hot chicks and alot of cool lookin niggers, and of course a super dope DJ. The whole place was filled with the excitement from the crowd and the intense atmosphere from the battles. Everyone gathered in a circle and the bboys battled each other one on one. The atmosphere was really so great. It was peace, fun, and harmony under the wonders of god, no matter wat god u pray to. I arrived late enough to catch everything from the selection for top 16. It was damn scary! All the bboys stepped into the circle and formed a even smaller circle and as soon as the DJ dropped the music everyone literally pushed away their opponents and tried to get into the spot light. Even though I was watch it from at least 5M away but I felt scared. Indeed, bad sportsmanship always happens, it was so intense and intimidating, 2 ppl started pushin each other and almost got into a fight.
No cameras are allowed but it was too great to miss. So I took a few clips.
Quarter-finals. (notice the gay did swipes with 1 hand o.O)
And semi-finals, 3 rounds of battles each cos the judges don wanna give tie-breakers.
Couldn't take the finals cos the security guard warned me -.- Again, the last round of the finals was another excellent display of how style triumphed against power. I believe it was his luck too cos the track tt was playing happened to be a track he's familiar with and at the end of his power set he did some really really really really dope and stylish toprocks, was hell good and he was on the beat. His set was perfect and totally clean and tight. The man collapsed from exhaustion and lied down in smile aft he pulled off his set and everyone in the audience stood up and cheered, screams drowned the music. I too, stood up and cheered and clapped automatically. It was really TOOOOOO DOPE to resist.
Other than the battles, the cyphers tt took place during breaks were also damn nice. Not just I, a foreigner, was impressed and shocked by the uprocking cyphers ( uprocking is different dance, maybe a branch of bboying that only involve standing movements, dancers will attack each other with their moves or burns, so it looks like they're fighting but the movements are very artistic and nicely choreographed). Even the locals dropped their jaws. One guy beside me was so impressed with the uprocking and he said "There gus are insane! Look how close they are from each other!" I never saw anything like tt too, they were really v close with each other when they do their burns, it really looked like they were fighting. Other than the uprocking, there were alot of normal cyphers and also bbgirl battles. Circles were formed everywhere. I got really inspired man!!
A clip of the cyphers:
Battles ended at 12mid night. Winner was crowned the best bboy of CA, as the name King of Cali explains. I really wanted to hang around a bit but Asaf wanted to go home so I went off with him. I loved his comments about the jam - it was crazy, how can it be humanly possible. Haha, I bet everyone will say the same thing. Missed our bus so took cab, luckily there was someone going to the same direction as us so he shared cab with us. He paid 7 bucks before alighting when the meter says 10 and cab reached our home at 13bucks. So wasn't tt expensive, I tot it'll be 10bucks for each of us. And no mid night charge! =D
The jam was unprecendented.
This morning I got woked up by a phone call from a fren, the Mr.Rich. He asked me 2 go gym with him to play bball,
I gladly agreed. Sch's facilities r pretty good, the gym (actually an excercise centre) is huge, has an indoor pool, indoor bball court, soccer field, weights room, dancing studio n etc. It's free for all students to enter, most importantly. Played till noon and I went back home and cooked myself lunch. Felt quite happy, partly bcos I was still very excited bcos of the previous night, and partly bcos I finally cooked something tt looks decent and it tastes good too.Check this out: Turkey meat. Wakakakaka.

Peace

Take it to the floor
Sup niggas.
E other nite I went 2 Sunset District and hooked up wit some local bboys. I got a contact online by the name of Smith and he gave me all e directions. I got nothin 2 do so I went down. E trip took pretty long, cos of the need to change bus once. I was advised by many not 2 go cos it's at nite n it's dangerous n strangers n blacks n all tt. I dno wtf I was thinkin, I juz went and. . it was alright. E place was like a big activity centre in the neighbourhood of Sunset. There're bball courts, pingpong tables and the bboys trained in a small hall wit wooden floor. Was really quite scary while walkin alone into Sunset from the mainroad. No one, literally no one on the road, feels really creepy. After tt nite I tot about it and I think I really took abit, juuuuuz abit of risk. I guess if it's someone else he/she probly won do it, 1st week in USA, alone, takin bus which you never take before, and the place was not very near.
Anyway, I made my way to Sunset and the bboys there r v frenly. Made alot of frens and I arrived juz slightly pass 7 when they juz started their weekly sessions. There were quite a lot of Asians breakin there, made frens with a hongkong guy n a taiwan guy. Was an eyes openin experience for me. Seriously without Felix as coach, I think the half of year's times was wasted at RUA (room under audi). All the other bboys and I had nothing 2 teach each others, it's like a bunch of noobs playing DotA and laughing at one another getting owned by opposing creeps. Training spot at Sunset is great, there're pros and novices. There're ppl doing air-flares, ridiculusly fast footworks, stylish toprocks as well as ppl who r struggling wit their baby-freezes. So it's really a good place to train or to pick up bboyin. Anyway, I took a short clip of the cyphers @ Sunset. Here it goes:
Tt was cyphers. Everyone will get into a cycle and the bboys will step out to do their set. Was my virgin experience, doing it was so different from watch it. I clapped along to the beat and waited till everyone has stepped out at least once, and then I really held my breath and stepped out, felt as scary as ure attempting to make your 1st kiss to a girl who you really like. I did my set which was rubbish, nearly collapsed when I jumped into freeze. Bloodcurdling experience. I was really noob there, everyone else was fucking dope, I'm like a techie with no items tryin 2 suicide and do some microscopic pathetic damage to the lvl 25 fat pudge with 6 hearts. Recalling Felix once said that if I wanna progress, I have to go to the States and see it, however it'll be very very intimidating. Indeed, it is very intimidating.
Was really an eye-opening nite. And made many frens, incl niggas, yes I need to stress this.
It felt simply great.
The nxt day, Jan 19, I woke up with muscle aches all over. Spent the morning relaxing and wrote my resume for job application. Wasn't really a resume, I juz copied everything from CCA record and added in some stuffs.
In the aftnoon, Takuya Oka, a Japanese student here asked me out. So we went to the downtown area. He's exactly the same as me, 1st time here and alone, except tt he's a transfer student.Downtown area looks beautiful, we hanged out for bout 1 hour and ate our dinner at a Thai restaurant where I had some tom yum which doesn't taste original at all. Aww. But there's 1 waitress who's very pretty so. . tt'll make up for the damage from the tom yum. Lmao.
At the same place we met some Chinese students from USF coincidently. So we all decided to hang out together. The Chinese students who came from mainland are all damn filthy rich, dammit man, China is really corrupted. One of them bought a pair of Dior sunglasses for 370 USD. o.O Stupid rich ass, he said he bought it because he really liked it. Wtf! 370USD!! For a pair of glasses (_._'') It's life style of the rich and the famous. Afterwards we went to Walgreen, a supermart to buy some random stuff and the Mr.Rich complained that a plug was expensive bcos it cost 8bucks. "You're insane", yours truly said.
Alright I'll update again. Gonna go get some lunch.
Peace

Here a quick post.
Back to SF and everything is good.
Orientation is ending tmr and I met a lot of ppl these days from all over the world, US locals, Netherlands, Israel, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, China and not forgetting Singapore!
Made many many new frens.
Ppl here are generally very frenly. Even when I kept quiet some came up 2 me to talk n mingle n shake hands.
Orientation = a lot of breifings + a lot of handshakes.
Met 2 housemates, Gavin ( in red t-shirt) who's a local and Asaf from Israel, 21 and 22 respectively. ( now who's calling me old?)Gavin is a great chef and works in a local restaurant once a week, Asaf is the school's tennis player.
Had a dinner wit my housemates together, Gavin baked a chicken and it tasted superb. Found out from them tt my roommate is called Larry. Anthony Congi switched room wit Larry so now he's my roommate.

Larry is a sissy, from wat I heard but tt's fine. They said he's a very nice guy. I'll b seein him by this wkend. Yea baby.
Realised that my status was accidentally put by the sch as "Jr" when I shld b a Freshman. ( Undergrads: Freshman, Sophermore, Jr, Sr ----------> Graduate) Tt doesn't mean I'm gonna graduate nxt yr. But juz tt I'm given the privilege to live at Loyola Village!
Compared my dorm which is condo apartment style with the freshman dorm which is juz a 1 room dorm. I hav better stuffs in terms of everything. 5 roommates from different culture, furnitures, fridge, mircowave, dishwasher, huge oven, pantry, 2 toilet and etc.
The freshman dorms has: Bed. (Everyone gotta buy their own bedsheets and blankets, enuff said)
And thx to all the great ppl who lived at 416b previously for fully equiping this house wit kitchen utensils and everything, incl the Xbox and TV. I applaude them for making 416b like a real home for everyone.
My housemates drinks. Some r pretty heavy drinkers. Asaf offered me red wine during dinner and shared bout their party and drunk experience. I told them I got never drunk before and the reply was "Hahaha! Welcome to Loyola Village!" (_._'') Alright sweet. But I won get wasted.

Filled in two job applications so far. One at the Crossroads cafe. The manager looks pretty and honry, I better shag her for the job -.- The other at Student Leadership and Engagement Office, Mr Sam the over-all in charge looks pretty gay, so I better shag him too -.-
So far haven got replies from both for interview but I've been actively visiting the office and today I passed my lesson schedules to them.
Reg-ed for classes today, it's bollocks. Advisor advised me to start off easy, 12-16 units. Mandatory subjects are: Writing, public speaking, history, literature, fine art, ethnics, philiosophy. Business cores. . too many. Finance electives I cant take them till I complete all the pre-reqs in business cores and another stupid requirement is: must be of Junior standing. Bullshit-.-
Anyway, planning to transfer so din' waste my units on ethnics or similar sorts. Maths placement test is stupid, and I been more stupid made 5 mistakes out of 32. All Chinese students got full marks and today found out the requirement for Quant Methods ( a math lesson designed for business majors), need to score 12 and abv. Wtf? Tt's so gay low, bollocks. On a funnier note, my fren Takuya from Jap, a transfer students, this yr a Jr scored 7 marks. Yamete~! Another Jap, oso a transfer, Shion got 13. Congrats! Ure eligible for Quant Methods!
So, I reg-ed for math, microeconomics (hav 2 retake again, zzz), rhetoric and writing, accounting I. Wanted to take another business core, but the pre-reqs are gay. Even accounting was only for Sophermores. So I approached the professor n told him I wanna take tt at Freshman lvl and he gladly agreed. Nice!

My schedule? total bout 15 units, wanted to take more but all the classes are 4 units and I can only take up to 18 units, for every additional units abv 18, it cost 1000USD. Wanted to take Hip Hop class which is 1 unit, hahaha, gay? But class is full, nvm I'll juz go down for fun.
So my schedule, monday weds fri, lesson begin at 9 end at 12.20. Tues and thurs, lesson begin at 8.15 end at 11. Tt's all. It's consider quite alot by local standards cos majority leave their friday empty for leisure activities. Ohwells, uni life at USA.
Baby's schedule is even more shocking, monday to weds, thurs n fri nothing -.- and tt's 16 units. Unbelievable. Seriously if I hav enuff cash I'll take 20 plus units and tt'll enable me to grad within 3 yrs.
So many things took place these few days and I cant recall much and the amt of info I received is cosmic. So far so good, I think m at my 2nd stage of culture shock, feeling ok right now but guess the nxt depression is coming soon and I'll soon experience others as unsympathetic and unfeeling. Haha, I learnt this from the presentation during the orientation workshop. Whatever things.
Went to Clement ytd, Chinese call it the "New Chinatown" locals say
it's juz a cheap street for shopping. Ate my cheapest meal in USA so far, guess wat it is? CAI FAN! 2 veg + 1 meat =4.88 USD. It's gigantic, supersized USA CAI FAN. Ate a quarter of it and full. Not kidding. Also bought some seasoning, a fish, some veg, 4 garlics and a kettle. Start living Mr Vinci Zhang.I gotta run to shit and go to Sunset district. M bored, wanna hook up wit some local Bboys. (m not jokin...)

San Leandro, CA

Another 3 days to the international student orientation and right now, yours truly is at San Leadro, bout an hr’s drive from San Francisco. Guess wat I’m doing here? I din expect this too but I’m at Baby’s house. Surprise! Even my parents din expect such hospitality from Baby’s mom. Ha, guess tt’s enuff said alr.
Reached SF on 10th and came here on 11th. Fast ey? On the 10th night yue (baby’s twin sister) told me her mom wanna invite me to live at their place for 5 days before my sch starts. She said “You better grap this chance hor!” The 1st thing tt came to my mind, couldn’t really rmb is – either wtf/ohmy! Really really so unbelievable that she’ll invite me to LIVE WITH THEM!!! All the while I tot she dislikes me =S and the reverse is true.
Anyway, on 10th night nobody came home, so till now I still haven see any of my roommates. On 11th’s morning, I got waked up by the door bell, Baby and connie (her colleague) came. It was 2pm, I overslept for obviously good reasons. So I promptly packed and connie drove us from SF to SL. How sweet of her!! And I think on Monday, 15th, she’ll probly drive me back again. I feel so sorry, so I gave her the box of chocolate that my frens gave me at the airport. No choice, I had nothing else 2 offer.
Reached SL at local time 5pm. Greeted my most “beloved” aunt at the door and went in. House is small but cozy, I mean, at least she has a home here. Had a drink and some talks with Mrs.Zhong (Baby’s mom, the type of mother that’s the mother of all mothers, get wat I mean? Lmao). She told me tt when they 1st came they couldn’t adjust and they felt very miserable. Therefore, she hopes to ameliorate things for me by inviting me to live with them for a week. And yours truly is deeply grateful for her kind actions. =) Baby went off to work soon aft we arrived. Donna (Baby’s 2jie) had work too and luckily, yue has nothing on tt evening. Phew! If not I’ll be eating dinner alone with Mr & Mrs Zhong. (their small sister is at home all the time, but her presence is negligible) Aft chatting with aunty I logged on to the computer and told my parents my whereabouts. They too, felt very glad and relieved that I’m with the Zhong family. Din dare to make myself feel at home as instructed by the mother of all mothers so I helped her with some chores. Mr.Zhong came home at 7pm, I was nervous all the while about meeting him cuz I’ve heard many stories of him from Baby before. A very hardworking and capable man who has always been the sole source of income for the family, and everyone treats him with immense respect, perhaps, even with a bit of fear. Indeed, his serious-looking face tells me that I must not treat him with any levity, and I greeted him politely.
During dinner we talked a little, he doesn’t talk much so I kept eating most of the time. Aunty cooked many dishes, I told her to cook simple meals but she’s so courteous to me. I ate a lot, really a lot, not tt I was hungry but I knew she won b happy if I don finish my food. Yue told me kept telling me to eat more these days and when I get back to sch I can starve (_._’’). Anyway, I proudly volunteered to wash the dishes after dinner and yue helped me. Aunty said I’m a very hardworking guy. Hahaha! Rofl. I told her I’m not so hardworking at my own house. Why? I dno, why are we so well-mannered in other people’s house but we often take our own parents for granted? Tt night I slpt in the living room, had a chat with Baby (she came home from work aft 11pm) b4 I slpt. Prior to that we din really hav any good talks, partially due to the people around us, and partially bcos we had no mood 2 talk. Told her bout my trip in China and chatted a bit. I felt somewhat peculiar seeing her again with no distant feeling. We all felt like we juz met ytd and saw each other again today, no anticipation, no excitement, weird ey? It’s all like a dream! 7 months ago she left SG. I rmbed vividly how we spent the last night together and the feeling then was juz so different from now. However, right now I’m here in USA, and staying at her house!! Mayb I felt so strange is because m still not mentally packed for USA. Recalling my last night in SG, I lied on bed, looking at the ceiling and my desk and cupboards. I tot to myself “room, this will be my last time slpin in you in 2007” and then I started crying. Till I was really tired and went to slp, and I told myself that it’s all juz a dream. So, I guess we din feel distant from each other bcos we’re really not distant, and now, literally not distant. Move us back to SG and this absurdness will be gone.
(morning at the neighbourhood)The nxt day I woke up early at 7.30, ate a pretty heavy breakfast, again, thx to the courtesy of Mrs.Zhong. Subsequent to that, I went out together with her and the twins. Made our way to Laney college where Yue attended lessons and baby talked to her counselor. Aunty walked to Chinatown which is nearby to mend some stuffs. Saw many niggas at Laney, the way they dress are all damn hip. Baby told me they’re dangerous ppl, and usually shaved heads are better in terms of academics. She’s v scared if one of my roommate is a nigga -. – I bet there’ll b one. I have 5 roommates leh. Heck care la, I think niggas are cool.
Went home aft they settled everything and Baby went of to work. Working is part of daily routine, and soon it’ll be part of my life too. Again, did some house works.
Together wif Yue, we washed the stove clean. Took us 1 hr, so juz imagine the condition it was in before we laid our hands on it. Aunty was very happy and thankful to see her cooking space received an extreme makeover, she said she doesn’t dare 2 cook on it bcos it looks so charming. Tt aftnoon I also helped aunty to cook dinner. How auspicious that I’m an only-child and I was compelled to learn how to cook basic stuffs because my parents are often MIA. So I helped her cut everything, and fried everything, then served everything and washed everything. She’s delighted! She said “How I wish to have a son like u, Yun is very lazy, u muz help me to lecture her.” Ohmy, I hoped I won her heart alr. Hahaha, and my honey baby, pls help your mom more in the future. While I was washing the stove with Yue she also said u v lazy leh. So nxt time, wash the dishes 1st before proceeding to watch anime. Everything was fine that day, except the dinner was a little awkward bcos I ate alone with Mr & Mrs Zhong. (Yue went 2 work aft washing stove=( )Slpt earlier tt night, exhausted from the house works and still trying to adjust to the new time (it’s funny that my shitting time is still not changed, I shit every aftnoon now -. – which is morning in SG, bollocks. . .) Again, spent some time alone wif Baby when everyone’s slpt.
Today I’m pretty free so I blogged. I’m really very thrilled to be able to spend a few days at San Leandro. Experienced the family life of local Chinese which one may never dream of during a typical study trip to USA. I’m extremely grateful to aunty who really treated me like her own son these 3 days. I’m very touched and glad. She even told me to come by every weekend to join them for a dinner. I’m also very happy to do house works for her. The fact that she asked me to help her shows that she’s treating me like a family member but not a guest. I guess I’ve previously formed wrong opinions about her, so I take all tos back. No more sarcasms, you’re indeed the mother of all mothers. =) It’s an honor to be able to slp in your living room. Hahaha, tt still sounds so sarcastic, but I’m not. M really honored. Nonetheless all these made me miss home. And made me wonder how I’ll live alone back in USF.
Whatever things. Tml Baby has no work! =D Finally someone can accompany me. I’ll go help aunty now. Blog again some other time.Peace

Hello,
I've arrived safely at San Francisco. Weather here is chilling, 4 - 10C I think. Super windy.
1st, thx to friends who came to airport to send me, really appreciate it. Leaving sg wasn't as sad as I tot. In fact I din cry, I was pretty excited about coming here. (but I cried on the plane haha) The flight was smooth, to hongkong then to sf. Sat till my butt aches, couldn't slp much so I stoned all the while and taking small walks on the plane.
Reached sf 1/2 hr before predicted arrival time, going out of the custom was swift. Haha, talkin bout culture shock, the officer who checked my documents was sitting with one leg resting on a small table and gums in his mouth. Very casual, sg shld employ him. Getting laggages is like shitting during constipation, took half an hr. Enuff said about tt, ya'll get wat I mean. So. . I came out, anticipating 2 c my gf. To my mild disappointment, since I din expect much too, she was late. Baby came bout half an hr later, I din notice cos was playing games on laptop, heard her calling me and she ran up 2 me n hugged n kissed me. =D
Thx 2 her friend Connie who knew the way to drive into city, and airport (baby said she can only do tt with a GPS _._'' ) my trip into the city and my school was an easy one. Yue oso came (gf's twin sis). Thx all! For pickin me up. Although was v exhausted but still kept awake and enjoyed the surrounding sceneries during the drive. It's MAGNIFICENT!! I'll upload some photos soon. Came alone, the feeling is different from all the previous trips I had, to a totally strange place and juz by myself. Reached my dorm 1st, it's called Loyola Village, looks as exotic as it sounds. Got my ppr works done with e aid of a black girl and collected my USF student ID. The sch campus is very scattered, many roads between buildings and at the top of Lone Mountain, one can look across to the Golden Gate bridge sitting on top of the purple haze with the mountain at it's background, eyes opening! If I have nothing 2 do I think I can stone there the whole day and just look at it.
Went thru many tedious steps and finally moved my stuffs into my room. Yours truly at 4th floor, room 416b. It's like a condo, 3rooms, each occupied by 2 students. 1 living room, 2 toilets, 1 kitchen. 1st impression of the room: nice and cozy. Aft checking out everything, I tot it was in a bloody mess. For example, rice cooker still has rice in it, and "grasses" are alr growing on it. Thick layer of dust on cabinets and dirts on the carpet. I live wif bunch of pigs. Went 2 check out all 3 rooms, only 1 room with a bed undone, it must be mine. So I moved in. Apparently these students are out of town or country since it's still sch hols. Right now at 10.45pm sf time. M alone in this big apartment. Things I've done: Vacuumed my room and the corridoors, wiped clean the tables, chairs and cabinets, bought blanket, bed sheet and pillow, washed some kitchen utensils and blablabla. (-.-) I'm like the kind guy who offen appear on movies, living wit a bunch of pigs and cleaning the house for them. Well, dno who these ppl r. Baby and the 2 other oso came up wif me n checked out my place, baby said one room has nigga's smell. Haha, she really makes me wanna laugh. Then there's beer in fridge, fhm on table, xbox below tv, hellota dvds on sheleves. Get the picture? And apparently the ppl living here din bother 2 clean up anything before they left. In the other 2 rooms there are dirty socks on the floor, shirts on the table, window shades half open, blankets not fold. I'm still wonder if anyone is coming "home" 2 see me later or I'm currently the only one here. It's ok, I like being alone.
Let me backtrack abit to lunch. I asked directions bout the cheapest eating places and Connie drove all of us there. Ate at the Thai restaurant, a plate of fried rice, v ordinary looking, u can get anywhere in a SG food court, costs 7USD (cheap by sf standards) and still need 2 give tips. By lunch time I alr started to feel the pressure of living alone. Din finish eating so packed away. Went back 2 Loyola Village and bid goodbye to the 3 lovely girls, baby and Connie (also her colleage) had 2 work at 5pm. I reached home at bout 2pm, tt's when I started to unpack abit and do some cleaning. Bathed and napped. The bath was horrible, hot water is avail but the water runs so slowly, in the end I came out shivering. Blankets and bedsheet not provided, but I was too tired so din care, woke up by the sound of percussion playing in between my teeth. Decided I shall spend some money 2 buy blanket. Pushed myself against the wind and reached a supermart juz 3 streets across. Spend 1 hr plus conparing prices and finally bought some items, pillow, blanket, bed sheet, bed skirt and pillow covers. Cost a total of bout 100USD. *heart pain. Stress stress stress!! Bcos I need 2 earn my own living expenses!!!!!
How to live?! Really heart pain, and bcos of tt I skipped dinner-. - din even dare 2 eat the left over rice from the Thai restaurant, save it for tml. Boiled some water and drank with oatmeals, dinner settled.
It's quite hard 2 explain how I feel right now. U can call me poorthing. Oh well, it's the 1st time that I'm compelled to take on responsibilities for myself. It may sound simple that I went to shop for a blanket. But making the decision 2 spend money, walking alone in this strange place, and finally after much comparing and bought those stuffs make this a totally different experience. I felt very happy and satisfied and I made my own bed, pls applaude me! Was actually feeling ok till juz now I became very sad.
Baby's mom asked me 2 go and stay in their house for 6 days before my sch starts, she said I v poor thing alone here. Hai. I felt happy she asked, but then tt really reminded me tt m alone, and poorthing.
Whatever it is, I'm not sad, for that I will change for the better. Even though it may be abit bitter and tough, but tts okay. Check the sch's joblistings, decided I will start 2 work asap. Alot of changes to life suddenly ey? I don like it too but no choice, cos I cant keep skipping dinner ;) My parents will think m facing alot of pressure tt I need 2 start working so fast. It's true, although it's juz 1 day here. But at the same time, I guess I've been enjoying too much under my parents' guidance, they dote me, I know, and I mustn't take them for granted like I always did. It's not 2 late to realise and b independent. So, no matter how tough it is, I will earn my own living expenses. Used to spend 10SGD per day, now need 10SGD per meal, this is bollocks. So, whether I hav alr adjusted to this place alr onot, I cant care. Will call n go for interview tml.
My 1st day in SF. I would say it's very meaningful =) M goin 2 slp on the comfortable bed I juz made for myself. Sweet dreams everyone!
